Receptive Language and Expressive Language
Receptive Language is the processing and understanding of language. Expressive Language is the ability to express oneself through use of language.
Executive Functioning
Executive functions consist of fundamental skills that allow the brain to organize and act on information.
Articulation
An articulation disorder is the decreased production of sounds including substitutions, omissions, additions or distortions that may result in reduced speech intelligibility.
Swallowing
After a hospitalization for an accident, stroke, brain injury, individuals may have a swallowing difficulty, also known as dysphagia.
Cognition
For individuals that have experienced head trauma, a brain injury, or a stroke, cognition and executive functions can be compromised.
Articulation
An articulation disorder involves problems making sounds. Sounds can be substituted, left off, added or changed. These errors may make it hard for people to understand you.
Voice
Rebecca is specially trained in LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment) for clients with Parkinson’s disease.
